The 77W (left, 2003) and the 77L (right, 2005) were also in Le Bourget for their introduction to the public.
Since 1997 the 777 regularly comes to France.
United Airlines and Malaysia Airlines are two of the earliest 777 operators to France.
Air France has received its first 777 in March 1998.
Air Austral, from the french overseas department La Réunion, has ordered 777s for opening flights to the french mainland.
AF's first hub was Paris - CDG. Years later AF decided to renew its fleet for flights to the Caribean and to the Indian Ocean, by ordering high-density configured 77Ws. These 777s are deployed on routes from Paris - Orly, thus being the 2nd 777 hub in France.
The longest domestic flights of the 777 are in France; Orly to Reunion with 9337 kilometres to fly.
British Airways used CDG for training flights during the early introduction time for 777 pilots.
The Air France Technic facilities at ORY are very well known for high-quality maintenance. So, there are often third-party 777s coming to ORY for this reason. Air Austral's 777 were reconfigured and overhauled here before entry-into-service.
