IntroductionThe 77L was launched together with the 77W in early 2000, first known as the "Longer-Range 777s". But, the beginnings of the 77L were rather complicated. Due to the events of the 11/09/2001 the demand of planes and air travel decreased generally and for the LR-market even more. So, Boeing choosed to freeze the 77L's development for a year, to give the market a chance to recover. In August 2004 the final assembly of the first "Worldliner" begun. On 15th Feb 2005 the first 777-200LR was rolled out, in new Boeing colors, at Boeing's 777 plant in Everett, Washington. The Boeing 777-200LR is the world's longest-range commercial airplane. So, it has the capability of connecting virtually any two cities in the world nonstop. |
