About

Air New Zealand has ordered its 777s on 25th August 2004 for major fleet expansion.
"The new Boeing 777-200ER is one of the most advanced passenger aircraft ever made and will expand our capabilities for long-haul operations," said Fyfe, CEO of Air NZ, during the order ceremony. "It will also help us take the uniquely Kiwi experience we deliver our customers to another level."
In early August 2007 Boeing and Air NZ have finalized an agreement for an order of 4 B777-300ERs (plus 3 options). These 77Ws will replace NZ's fleet of 744s and will have 40 to 50 more seats than Air NZ's 77Es.
During the order signing NZ's CEO Fyfe said:
"These new -300ERs will help us build on the success we've had with our existing 777s," ... "There's no doubting the 777's passenger appeal, and its fuel efficiency is a very good fit with our very strong commitment to the environment.
