About
Malaysia Airlines ordered their 777s on 8th January 1996. The first T7 was right in time for MH's 50th anniversary.
Therefore the earlier 777s were delivered with a small sticker applied.
The early flights for Malaysia's 777 were all operated in Asia and to Oceania, later the routes to Europe were added and since 2000 a MH 777 also flies
from KUL via ARN to Newark in the USA. In late 2006 this route was ready to be axed but some strong interventions by politics have led MH into
continuing this route.
Their two latest 777s (MRP/Q) are equipped with Boeing/Jeppesen's Class3-EFB. MH was the first asian/pacific airline ordering EFB-equipped Boeing 777s.
"These new 777s are a perfect fit for our long-distance routes," said Dato' Ahmad Fuaad Mohd Dahlan, managing director for Malaysia Airlines.
"And with the EFB, we're looking forward to even higher levels of efficiency, reliability and excellence."
