About

JAL has ordered their 777s on 24th January 1992. One of the earliest order for the T7, but JAL was involved in the develop-ment of the 777 in the "Working Together"-Group or the "Gang of Eight". Japan Air System ordered their T7s on 29th June 1993, which were delivered in a colorful rainbow scheme. JAS was later absorbed by JAL, now forming JAL domestic and JAL international.
JAL's original intent was to operate the 777s in Asia. Later they have decided to operate them also on longer-range routes to Europe and therefore have ordered 77Es and 77Ws.
