FedEx has placed the order for the 777s on 7th November 2006.
First delivery of a FedEx 77F is deferred up to 17 months. Because of the current down-turn in world economy.
The first four 777 Freighters are going to be delivered in late 2009. And the last one around 2018.
In early January 2009, FedEx has exercised options for 15 more 77Fs and placed options for another 15.
During official ceremonies at Boeing's Delivery Center at Paine Field:
“The Boeing 777 is an extraordinary testament to our dedication to fleet enhancement,
allowing FedEx Express to provide unmatched services to our customers around the world,” said David J. Bronczek,
president and CEO, FedEx Express.
“Its payload capacity, range and environmental efficiencies create well-rounded, long-term strategic value for our company
in meeting the global shipping demands of customers.”
