About

Emirates ordered the first 777s on 4th June 1992. An order for three 777-200 and six 777-200ERs.
Some years later the very fast expanding Emirates orders 12 larger 773s through leases with ILFC and SALE to be able to cope with its huge expansion.
On 20th November 2005 Emirates has placed a record-breaking order for 42 777s (24 77W, 10 77L, 8 77F).
"We have had very positive results with the Boeing 777s already in our fleet," said Emirates Chairman H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum. "These new airplanes are perfectly suited to our business model for continued growth, both in cargo and passenger traffic, while maintaining the high level of comfort and exceptional service our passengers expect."
This order also includes the 777th ordered Boeing 777.
In 2007 Emirates will become the largest operator of 777s with an average delivery of one 777 per month.
In Summer 2007 a german fonds group has issued a "Flugzeug-Fonds" for an Emirates 77L and later also for a 77W.
With the delivery of Emirates' 1st B777-21HLR "Worldliner" on 31st August '07, Emirates received their 50th 777.
