About
British Airways ordered its first 777s on 21st August 1991.
BA was the 1st airline to receive the 777-200ER, at that time known as the 777-200IGW.
The 777 is now one of the backbones of BA's longhaul fleet.
Accident report on BA38 PEK-LHR:
On 18. January a BA 777 (GYMMM, delivered in 2001) landed short of Heathrow's southern runway 27L.
There were no severe injuries of the 152 passengers and crew members onboard the flight.
