About
Air Canada's order for 777s was a long story.
AC had at one point already ordered the T7, but a dispute over payments with the pilots has led AC into cancelling
the order. Some months later AC has solved this dispute and again placed an order for the T7. This order consisted of 77L, 77F and 77Ws. However, the order for
two 77Fs was cancelled in May 2007.
"The introduction of 777 service featuring Air Canada's new in-flight product on these key European, Asian and South Pacific routes places Air Canada
on the forefront of North American carriers offering the highest quality of long haul service and amenities," said Sean Menke, CCO, during
the pressconference where the first 777 routes were presented.
