About

Jet Airways has placed the order for the 777s on 29th September 2005.
Originally, the order was for 77Ws and 77Ls, but later they decided just to order 77Ws.
Thus switching the order for 77Ls to more 77W orders.
"The combination of the 777-300ER's positive economics and passenger comfort will help ensure the success and profitability of our growing route structure." said Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal during the ceremony of Jet's 1st 777 delivery (delivery flight PAE-BRU-DEL).
Jet Airways is building a scissor-hub in BRU for connecting pax from DEL and BOM and later also from other indian cities to their final destinations in North America.
As of late December 2008 Jet Airways is leasing 4 77Ws to Turkish Airlines for 3 years. From March til Ocotber 09, Gulf Air also had leased some 77Ws from Jet Airways. VTJEL is currently stored at Marana Airfield, USA.
